He once was a little green ball of clay. Gumby!

I remember watching Gumby cartoons in the early 1960's. They used stop-action photography with clay. It was amazing how many poses and facial expressions Gumby could make with his Pony pal Pokey too! Clay can form a million shapes and then be rolled back into a ball! It is extremely flexible.

Gumbys' dad was a fireman. My dad was a fireman. He had to work 24 hour shifts and because of this would work many holidays including Christmas and Thanksgiving. Every year we would celebrate a little differently from the years before. Some years we opened gifts on Christmas Eve, and another year on Christmas afternoon. A few times we ate Turkey in the firehouse garage at card tables and you better believe it was a memorable meal when the fire alarm went off! But you know, it was okay! We were together as a family. We learned that a holiday is just a day on the calendar and that we can celebrate
it anywhere, and any day we choose. Being flexible is a skill you learn by keeping yourself open to change and not afraid of it. Listen to His voice, and when he says "go to the left" or "go to the right" be willing to change course. Learn to bend so you do not break.

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice saying, This is the way; walk in it " Is 30:21

" A bruised reed He will not break, a smoldering candle he will not put out. Isaiah 4:3
